This CLE will provide practical information on how to effectively represent a client from the time you are appointed through trial. We will walk you through:
- Your Initial Meeting with the Client
- Setting of Bail
- Arraignments
- Preliminary Examinations
- Motions to Suppress and Many Other Pre-Trial Motions
We will discuss ways to effectively communicate with the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case and alternatives to prosecution.
This CLE will have emphasis on:
- The Role of the Defense Lawyer — the Dos and Don’ts to Providing Effective Assistance
- The Basic Outlines, Forms and Motions Every Good Lawyer Should Have
- Conviction and Sentencing Consequences

Cancellations:
Cancellation of registration must be received no later than May 2, 2016. Cancellations will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee. Cancellations after May 2, 2016 will receive credit, to be used within 1 year at a future SBA CLE seminar.
